Emmanuelle Aussedat was born in 1956 in Paris.
She entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1975 and later obtained her Higher Diploma in Visual Arts in Paris, in the drawing section, in 1980. She continued in the Lithography section in 1984, graduating with high honors.
According to A. C. Dray: “Emmanuelle Doërr Aussedat’s recent works are imbued with harmony, unity, and sensitivity. The construction of the painting is like the construction of a story. The forms are areas of different tonalities that at times intersect or move apart, to fade or assert themselves.”
In her work, everything serves as inspiration, but especially travel and the colors of landscapes: New York, Japan, an Andalusian night…
Emmanuelle Aussedat’s lines are precise, controlled, and architectural. Color also plays a central role. She has developed a fascination with black, which varies according to the work—sometimes luminous, sometimes deep and pure.
Emmanuelle has her own press, allowing her to produce small editions and remain fully dedicated to artistic creation.
The artist is represented in several museums in France and internationally, including the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Musée Air France, Fundación Actilibre in Madrid, the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, and the BID Collection in Washington.
