Elisabeth Stenne

Elisabeth Stenne is a versatile artist. From a classical training, where she first painted figurative works, notably in acrylic or oil pastel, she emancipated herself to move towards an abstract style and the mastery of oil painting. A master technician, the artist's work is characterized by a bold use of color, in deep, vivid or pastel hues. From fiery reds to pure whites, these colors express distant memories or current emotions, like a mood or a vibration.

Nature is often the source of her inspiration. By feeling it, she uses a simplification approach to take hold of reality and arrive at dreamlike, abstract landscapes. It is in this context that she works with thick, unstructured materials, while playing with the transparency of certain others, working in glazes. Her painting is a means of exploring new universes, through which the viewer travels.

Elisabeth Stenne refuses to intellectualize her art. For her, painting is a medium of freedom in which she wanders according to her desires and sensibilities. She invites us to travel and immerse ourselves in her work, to let our emotions flow. This is why she has never wanted to choose between figurative and abstract painting. She lets herself be guided by the moment, in one direction or another. It's up to the viewer to interpret what they see.

Elisabeth Stenne is an internationally renowned artist. After several exhibitions, notably in the United States (Atlanta, San Francisco and Boston), she has also exhibited on numerous occasions in France, and is present in several palaces and prestigious venues, such as the Carlton in Cannes, the Joel Robuchon Restaurant in Hong Kong, the Sofitel in New York, and the George V in Paris.
