Giovanni Gorini

Born in Lajatico (Pisa) in 1950, he began painting in 1970.

In 1972, he attended the Art Institute, and during this period, the works of Pollock and gestural art influenced him, leading to his first “abstract” painting in 1974.

Until 1975, he deepened this phase of research to free himself from traditional figurative art. He then discovered the work of Giuseppe Santomaso, and struck by its poetic quality and, above all, the “relationship with reality” in the artist’s work, he met him in Venice in 1976.
