Hiam Demeulenaere

Hiam Demeulenaere was born in Lebanon. She moved to France with her family as soon as she finished her business studies. But she soon had to leave everything behind to go and live in Africa.

The influence of the geometric forms of primitive art, the slender silhouettes of Dogon statues, and the undisputed masters of modern art, Picasso and Giacometti, have fueled his creativity and forged his contemporary works.

Her artistic approach is imbued with an aesthetic and spiritual quest. It consists in magnifying the elegant, natural curves of a female silhouette, and interweaving them with planes of sharp, clean angles. In this way, the Line alone imposes itself, creating a thousand nuances of light and shadow.

Hiam Demeulenaere's work can be seen in several galleries in France and abroad (Dubai, Lebanon, Ivory Coast).
