Geoffroy Tobé

Geoffroy Tobé trained in drawing and graphic arts at Penninghen, the school of art direction and interior architecture housed in the prestigious Académie Julian (which in the past hosted artists such as Matisse, Bonnard, Léger and Bazaine).

Geoffroy Tobé first specialized in publishing and visual identity, for architects, designers, fashion houses and museums.

He taught at the same school for twelve years, and now teaches at the University of California San Diego.

Geoffroy Tobé uses a geometric vocabulary, but also organic forms, which he associates with motif and material, always in search of a minimalist yet powerful balance. This is combined with research into color, and in particular its intensity. This allows him to play with the viewer's vision, caught up in intense or softer colors.

Geoffroy Tobé's works can be found in private collections around the world, notably in the United States, France and Russia.
