Lise Gonthier

Lise Gonthier began with a classical training in painting and drawing at the Beaux-Arts. She then turned naturally to glassmaking.

His "paintings" are produced in three stages: first, the blown elements are fused, then the sawed elements are cold-worked, and the fused parts are assembled.

With this technique, she can compose unique works "playing on the composition of lines, structure and graphics".

As a result, glass requires true technical mastery. Yet creativity and poetry emerge from her work. Lise Gonthier transports us to a dreamlike, creative world, where each piece is delicate and different. Glass enables Lise Gonthier to compose "paintings of light", as Rothko put it. These are bathed in transparency and are all volume, which tends to give the work an undeniable presence.

Lise Gonthier has won numerous awards, including in 2014 the creation of trophies for the FIFMA Ateliers d'Art de France, and in 2013, first prize for regional art in the Ateliers d'Art de France competition.
