Drawing is an integral part of Ora Mitja's personality and has always been present. In fact, it's the basis of her work. Her inspirations are varied, and include artists such as Moëbius and Delacroix.

Ora Mitja also specializes in engraving. For her, this creative process is a continuation of drawing, enabling her to oscillate between the softness of the sketch and the strength of the print. The search for color in printmaking is also an integral part of her research for her works. She oscillates between bladder green, Prussian blue and the intensity of different blacks. As is often the case in engraving, it's all a question of balance for the artist. A balance between full and empty, or the softness of strokes against geometric shapes...

His creative process is slow, and incorporates accident or error, and so as the artist states "I try many things, and sometimes I come across a perfect line, by chance or magic, an accident that happens and creates something, or I see a character born that amuses me. What I like most are these unique moments and their unique result, impossible to reproduce." These inspirations are also rooted in nature and plants, in which error and imperfection are part of the landscape.

These works are both figurative and abstract, letting the viewer's imagination run wild. The many details allow the eye to wander from one place to another, from one form of drawing to another. Here we find the inspiration of Alechinsky for his sequential drawings bordering on the abstract, or Raoul Dufy for his almost medieval engravings on vois.
